ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 18-1/2-2 OF THE
CODE OF ORDINANCES TO AMEND SECTION 502 OF
THE MECHANICAL CODE, CONCERNING STANDARDS-
DUCTS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 18-1/2-2 of the Code of Ordinances (being Section
2 of Ordinance No. 2926) , which establishes amendments and de-
letions in the Southern Standard Mechanical Code, is hereby
amended by adding a new subsection (8. 1) which shall read as
follows:
" (8. 1) Section 502 is amended to read as follows:
'Ducts shall be constructed, braced, reinforced and in-
stalled to provide structural strength and durability, and when
in accordance with the following standards shall be deemed as
meeting the intent of this code.

Standards SMACNA - Fourth Edition, 1969
Low velocity round ducts and fittings of 12" diameter and smaller
will be constructed of no lighter than 30 gauge. Sizes including
14" through 20" will be constructed of no lighter than 28 gauge.
All other ductwork will conform to SMACNA specifications.
High Velocity Duct Construction SMACNA - Second Edition, 1969
