RESOLUTION APPROVING APPLICATION FOR INNOVATIVE
ENERGY CONSERVATION GRANT.
WHEREAS, the City is participating in a demonstration
program to determine the effectiveness of local government' s
ability to assist small businesses in becoming more energy
efficient; and,
WHEREAS, it is deemed proper and advisable, in connection
with this program, to have made an infrared thermogram scan
aerial picture of the entire City, which will provide a means
for each individual resident or business owner to view his
location and see the need for energy conservation efforts;
and,
WHEREAS, the Texas Energy and Natural Resources Advisory
Council, formerly the Governor' s Office of Energy Resources,
has available for Texas local governments a grant program,
from which is available to the City of Wichita Falls a grant
in a sum not exceeding $20, 000, which requires a 1/3 match
by the City, which may be provided by in-kind services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
An application for such an Innovative Energy Conservation
Grant is hereby approved, and the City Manager is authorized
and directed to complete and file the application for such
grant. The City Manager is further authorized to execute
any necessary documents to carry out and complete such grant,
including the grant agreement. The City' s matching share
shall be provided by in-kind services in combination with
funds to be received from the Texas Innovation Group grant.
