RESOLUTION SELECTING SITE FOR A SOLID WASTE
TRANSFER STATION, AND AUTHORIZING HENNINGSON,
DURHAM & RICHARDSON, INC. TO FILE AN APPLICA-
TION R A PERMIT FOR SUCH TRANSFER STATION
WITH THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH.
WHEREAS, Henningson, Durham & Richardson, Inc. have
completed a study of the proposed solid waste transfer
station site location, and they have recommended Site B,
located in the Burlington-Call Field industrial district;
and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen find that this site is
the optimum site because of its location with respect to the
centroid of the waste generation area and the proposed
sanitary landfill Site H, the availability of rail services,
the surrounding land use, and excellent access to all parts
of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Site B, located in the Burlington-Call Field
industrial district, at the intersection of Kell Freeway and
Lawrence Road, is hereby selected as the site for the
solid waste transfer station.
SECTION 2 . Henningson, Durham & Richardson, Inc. are
hereby authorized to complete and file an application for
a permit for such solid waste transfer station with the
Texas Department of Health.
SECTION 3. Because of the fact that the City' s present
sanitary landfill is nearing capacity, and the public health
requires that facilities for handling solid waste be provided
as quickly as possible, this resolution is declared to be an
emergency measure and is effective immediately upon its passage.
