RESOLUTION ACCEPTING CONSTRUCTION OF REPAIRS
TO THE POLICE BUILDING, AND AUTHORIZING FINAL
PAYMENT.
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 2611 dated September 2 , 1980,
the Board of Aldermen accepted the bid of Wallace & Raub
Construction Company in the amount of $109,238 for the
construction of improvements to the police building, including
furnishing and installing an emergency electric generator; and,
WHEREAS, the City paid such contractor for the purchase of
the electric generator through the issuance of a purchase
order in the amount of $16 , 800 , and the City and such
contractor entered into acontract dated September 2 , 1980, for
the construction of the improvements and the installation of
the generator for the contract price of $92 ,438 ; and,
WHEREAS , said construction has been completed in accordance
with the plans and specifications; and,
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 1, increasing the contract
amount $600, was authorized by the City Manager to provide
access to roof drains through the roof to replace a section of
the drain line, and Change Order No. 2 , which increased the
contract price by $4, 680, was approved by the Board of
Aldermen to change the method of reroofing the building; these
change orders increase the contract amount to $97, 718, of which
87, 946. 20 has been paid to the contractor, leaving a balance
of $9, 771. 80; the contract provides that $500 shall be withheld
as an additional bond for the guarantee period of one year,
which leaves the amount of $9,271. 80 due to the contractor
at this time.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
BY THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The construction of the improvements to the police
building is hereby accepted by the City of Wichita Falls , and
the City Manager is directed to pay to the said contractor the
amount due at this time as set out above; at the end of one
year, the $500 which is being withheld may be released to the
contractor, subject to any claims under the guarantee.
