RESOLUTION REFUSING TO ADOPT AN ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION REQUESTED BY INITIATIVE PETITION,
WHICH WOULD HAVE SELECTED AS THE SITE FOR
THE SOLID WASTE TRANSFER STATION THE ABANDONED
READY-MIX CONCRETE PLANT ON THE NORTH SIDE OF
SEYMOUR HIGHWAY BETWEEN TANGLEWOOD DRIVE AND
ROGERS STREET.
WHEREAS, an Initiative Petition has been filed, requesting
the adoption of a resolution or ordinance selecting as the site
for the solid waste transfer station the abandoned Ready-Mix
concrete plant on the north side of Seymour Highway between
Tanglewood Drive and Rogers Street; and,
WHEREAS, this petition has been submitted to the Committee
of the Whole, which Committee has reported the petition back to
the Board of Aldermen, with its recommendation that the Board of
Aldermen refuse to adopt the requested resolution or ordinance;
and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen has considered such Initiative
Petition, and determined that the requested action should not be
taken.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF
THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS , THAT:
The Board of Aldermen hereby refuses to pass the proposed
resolution or ordinance which would select as the site for the
solid waste transfer station the abandoned Ready-Mix concrete
plant on the north side of Seymour Highway.
PASSED AND APPROVED this the 3rd day of November, 1981.
