RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING NOVEMBER 21, 1981 AS
PHYSICAL FITNESS DAY" .
WHEREAS , it is universally recognized that physical fitness
improves both the physical and the mental health of an individual,
and a regular program of physical exercise is a very important
factor in maintaining physical fitness; and,
WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the
citizens of Wichita Falls that they be concerned with their
physical fitness, and they should be encouraged to maintain
a high level of physical fitness; and,
WHEREAS, on November 21, 1981 the Park and Recreation
Department of the City of Wichita Falls will sponsor the first
annual Wichita Falls Fun Run to begin at Lock Lomand Park at
10: 00 o'clock A.M. , which 6.2 mile run will be co-sponsored
by the Wichita Coca-Cola Bottling Company.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
In order to bring public attention to this activity, and
to stress the importance to everyone of a program of physical
exercise, November 21, 1981 is hereby proclaimed as "Physical
Fitness Day" in Wichita Falls, and all citizens who are
physically qualified to do so are urged to participate in the
Fun Run.
