ORDINANCE NO. 3017
ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 32-20 OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS
INCREASING THE RATES THAT WILL BE CHARGED FOR
WATER, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS , TEXAS , THAT :
SECTION 1. Section 32-20 of the Code of Ordinances of
the City of Wichita Falls is hereby amended so that such section
shall hereafter read as follows:
"Section 32-20, Rates.
The following rates are hereby established and shall
hereafter be collected by the water department of the City:
The following water rates shall apply to all water users,
residential, commercial, and industrial with the exception of
contract water users and with the exception that service out-
side the corporate limits shall be two (2) times the rate
charged inside the corporate limits based upon the following
computation:
The minimum monthly bill for all metered water service
shall be $2. 25 for which amount each customer shall be allowed
two hundred (200) cubic feet of water.
For larger consumption the rate shall be as follows:
The next 800 cubic feet of water at 540 per hundred
The next 3 , 000 cubic feet of water at 45¢ per hundred
The next 2, 800 cubic feet of water at 380 per hundred
The next 60 ,000 cubic feet of water at 33¢ per hundred
The next 66, 800 cubic feet of water at 29¢ per hundred
In excess of 133, 600 cubic feet of water at 240 per hundred
The above schedule of rates shall not apply to persons
residing beyond the city limits, or having and maintaining
places of business outside the city limits, but such persons
shall pay twice the rate as above described, and the minimum
charge for such service shall be four and 50/100 dollars ($4. 50).

SECTION 2 . The fact that it is necessary to put the
above water rates in effect in order to place the City water
system on a self-sustaining basis creates an emergency,and
this ordinance is declared an emergency measure, and it
shall become effective immediately upon its passage.
