ORDINANCE PROHIBITING CONSUMPTION OF
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES IN ORNAMENTAL PARKS
AND CERTAIN OTHER PARKS IN THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The consumption of alcoholic beverages
in any ornamental park in the City of Wichita Falls and in
all public street rights-of-way abutting any such park is
prohibited.
SECTION 2. An ornamental park is defined as a public
park landscaped with trees, shrubbery and lawn, and is in-
tended to provide an attractive neighborhood setting and a
place for quiet, informal recreation. In some instances,
facilities may be installed for the use of young children
or older adults. The City has and maintains forty-eight
(48) ornamental parks, most of which are very small circles
or triangles at street intersections or medians. These
ornamental parks include, but are not limited to, the following:

SECTION 3. The consumption of alcoholic beverages is also
prohibited in Bridwell Park, Scotland Park, Martin Plaza and
Hamilton Park, which parks are hereby recognized and designated
as principally used and useful by family groups, and in all
public street rights-of-way abutting such parks.
SECTION 4. Any person who is convicted of violating
this ordinance shall be punished by a fine not exceeding $200. 00.
