AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 29-91 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS,
ESTABLISHING PRIMA FACIE MAXIMUM SPEED LIMITS ON
CERTAIN STREETS WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, AND DECLARING AN EMER-
GENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1, Section 29-91 of the Code of Ordinances is hereby amended by
adding a new paragraph numbered (C.1) which reads as follows:
"(C.I) Brook Street:
(1) 30 MPH From Speedway Avenue north to
North,.Frontage Street to Kell
Expressway.
(2) 35 MPH From North Frontage Street of
Kell Expressway north to Huff
Street.
(3) 30 MPH From Huff Street north to 5th
Street. "
SECTION 2. The fact that the prima facie speed limits set out in this ordinance
are necessary to the safe and orderly movement of traffic upon the streets pf the City of
Wichita Falls, this ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure on the ground that
there is an urgent public need for the orderly flow of traffic upon the streets, and a public
need for the preservation of the peace, health, and safety of the lives and property of the
citizens of the City. This ordinance shall, therefore, take effect immediately upon its
passage.
