ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3018, AS AMENDED,
TO EXEMPT HAMILTON AND SCOTLAND BALL PARKS FROM THE
PROHIBITION AGAINST POSSESSION AND/OR CONSUMPTION
OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 3018 , as amended by Ordinances
No. 3027 and No. 3066, prohibits the possession and/or con-
sumption of alcoholic beverages in certain parks, and in all
public street rights-of-way abutting such parks; and,
WHEREAS, it is found that the possession and/or con-
sumption of alcoholic beverages in Hamilton Ball Fields and
Scotland Ball Field is not contrary to the public interest.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Ordinance No. 3018, as amended, is hereby further amended
by adding thereto Section 4 , which shall read as follows:
"SECTION 4. There is exempted from the operation of
Section 3 of this ordinance the two ball fields at Hamilton
Park and the one ball field at Scotland Park; the term
'ball field' as used in this section shall mean the area on
which the ball game is played, the grandstands, and the
adjacent parking area. "
This ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure,
and it shall become effective immediately upon its passage.
