AN ORDINANCE WAIVING RESTRICTIONS ON REAR ALLEY ACCESS AND FOR
REDUCTION IN STREET WIDTHS IN BLOCKS 24 AND 25 OF MIDWESTERN
PARK ADDITION
WHEREAS, the owner of Blocks 24 and 25, Midwestern Park Addition,
as shown on the preliminary plat submitted to the Planning Board of the City
of Wichita Falls on June 16, 1976 has requested that restrictions on rear alley
access and reduction in street widths in said Blocks 24 and 25 be waived; and,
WHEREAS, the Planning Board of the City of Wichita Falls has recommended
to the Board of Aldermen that the said waiver be granted under certain conditions.
NOW, -THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Section 9, B, (12) (c) of Ordinance 2118 requiring a minimum
paving width of thirty (30) feet and Section 9, C, (5) of Ordinance 2118 requiring
main driveway entrances to open on a street, are hereby waived for said Blocks 24
and 25, Midwestern Park Addition provided the following conditions are met:
a. Street pavement shall be a minimum of twenty-seven feet in width.
b. Alley pavement shall be a minimum of fifteen feet in width.
c. Alley right-of-way width shall be a minimum of twenty-five feet
with the exception of the alley adjacent to the aqueduct, which
shall have a minimum right-of-way width of 20 feet.
d. Speed bumps and traffic markings must be provided as designed
by the Traffic and Transportation Division.
SECTION 2. The fact that the owner of the property will suffer sub-
stantial loss due to any delay in the taking effect of this ordinance creates an
emergency, therefore this ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its
passage.
