ORDINANCE GRANTING AUTHORITY TO THE FIRST-WICHITA
NATIONAL BANK TO CONSTRUCT A PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE
ACROSS THE ALLEY IN BLOCK 164 OF THE ORIGINAL
TOWN OF WICHITA FALLS.
WHEREAS, the First-Wichita National Bank is construct-
ing a new office building on a portion of the east one-
half of Block 164 of the original town of Wichita Falls,
and it has requested authority from the Board of Alder-
men to construct a pedestrian bridge across the alley,
connecting such new office building with the existing
First-Wichita National Bank Building and its adjoining
parking structure, which is located on the west one-
half of said Block 164.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF
ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The First-Wichita National Bank is
hereby granted the right and authority to construct
a pedestrian bridge across the alley in Block 164 of
the original town of Wichita Falls, connecting the
new office building and the existing First-Wichita
National Bank Building and its adjoining parking struc-
ture at the second floor level. The width of such pedestri-
an bridge may be from ten to twelve feet. The clearance
between the surface of the alley and the bottom of the
pedestrian bridge shall be no less than fifteen feet
ten inches. The construction of such pedestrian bridge
shall be done in accordance with the conditions as shown
on the sketch entitled "Proposed Pedestrian Bridge" ,
dated October 5, 1976, prepared by Killebrew/Rucker/
Associates, which is on file in the office of the
City Clerk.
SECTION 2 . Said bank shall coordinate such con-
struction with all utility companies whose facilities

are located in the alley.
SECTION 3. It shall be the responsibility of the bank
at all times to maintain said pedestrian bridge at its own
expense. If at any time in the future some public use
of such alley makes it necessary that the pedestrian
bridge be re-located or removed, such re-location or
removal shall be done at the sole cost and expense of
the bank.
SECTION 4. Whenever any work is being done on the
construction or maintenance of said pedestrian bridge,
the bank shall take all necessary and proper precautions
to protect the public from damages. The bank shall hold
and save the City of Wichita Falls harmless from all
damages or claims for damages resulting from the con-
struction, maintenance and location of such pedestrian
bridge.
SECTION 5. The right and authority hereby granted
is for so long as said pedestrian bridge is used and
maintained by said bank. When the pedestrian bridge is
no longer so used, it shall be removed by the bank at
its sole cost and expense.

1976.
