ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 29-91 OF THE
CITY CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS BY CORRECTING PARA-
GRPAHS (F) AND (0); AND ADDING PARAGRAPH
(AT) TO SECTION 29-91, AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Paragraphs (F) and (0) of Section 29-91 of the Code of Ordinances
of the City of Wichita Falls, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"(F) Central Freeway (U.S. 277-281)
Northbound Traffic:
(1) 40 MPH From 8th Street to 5/10 miles north
of 8th Street.
(2) 55 MPH From 5/10 miles north of 8th Street
40 MPH (min.) to north city limits.
Southbound Traffic:
(1) 55 MPH From the north city limits to a point 0.32
40 MPH (min.) mile (north side of 5th Street overpass)
north of 8th Street.
(2) 40 MPH From 0.32 mile (north side of 5th
Street overpass) north of 8th Street to
a point 0.12 (southside of 7th Street on
Expressway) mile north of 8th Street.
(0) Iowa. Park Road
(1) 35 MPH From Sheppard Access Road to Old
Iowa Park Highway.
(2) 40 MPH From Old Iowa Park Highway to
Wolcott Lane.
(3) 45 MPH From Wolcott Lane to Wesley Drive.
(4) 50 MPH From Wesley Drive to west city Limits. "
SECTION 2. Section 29-91 of the Code of Ordinances is hereby amended by
adding a new paragraph (AT), which shall read as follows:
"(AT)North Scott Street
(1) 35 MPH From the north end of the overpass
over the railroad and Old Iowa Park
Highway to Sheppard Access Road.
SECTION 3. The fact that many people live within the City of Wichita Falls
and that there is an urgent need for protection of its citizens and their property
upon the city's roads and streets, this ordinance is declared an emergency measure
on the ground of urgent public need for the orderly flow of traffic upon its roads
and streets and a public need for the preservation of the peace, health, and safety
of property of the city. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon Its
passage.
