AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 27-52(e) AND ADDING SECTION 27-57.1
TO THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF TIIE CITY OF WICIIITA FAILS, TEXAS
PROVIDING FOR THE NUMBERING OF RESIDENTIAL UNITS IN AN APARTMENT
COMPLEX; PROVIDING FOR THE TYPE OF ADDRESS NUMBERS IN APARTMENT
COMPLEX; AND PROVIDING FOR ENFORCEMENT.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS,
TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Section 27-52(e) of the Code of Ordinances of the City of
Wichita Falls is hereby amended so that such Section shall read as follows:
"Section 27-52(e) . Residential units within a complex of multiple
residential structures shall be numbered uniquely in hundred series
numbered in consecutive order through the complex with the one hundred
(100) series designating ground level, and the two hundred (200) series
designating second story units, etc. If the complex has over one
hundred (100) units at any story level, thousand series numbers shall
be used."
SECTION 2. The Code of Ordinances of the City of Wichita Falls is
hereby amended by adding a Section to be numbered 27-57.1 to read as follows :
"Section 27-57.1. All building address numbers or building letters in
a complex of residential structures shall be of a figure not less than
twelve (12) inches in height and approximately six (6) inches or more
in width and shall be so placed as to be seen plainly from the nearest
vehicular access. The residential unit numbers within buildings shall
comply with the provisions contained in Section 27-57. They shall be
purchased and paid for by the owner or agent of the property. The
building addresses shall be lighted, where possible, or composed of
reflective material, and of a color which provides a contrast to the
background. Certificate of Occupancy for the buildings shall not be
granted until compliance with the above provisions is determined by the
building official."
