AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING A TRIANGULAR PORTION OF
KESSLER AVENUE ADJACENT TO LOTS 7 AND 8, BLOCK A OF THE FLORAL
HEIGHTS SECOND ADDITION TO THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS,
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas
deems it advisable and in the public interest to close that portion of Kessler
Avenue herein described.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. That portion of Kessler Avenue which is described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the North line of Avenue K, at its intersection
with the North line of Kessler Avenue, said point being in the South
line of Lot 8, Block A, Floral Heights Second Addition.
THENCE East with the said North line of Kessler Avenue 108.7 ft. to a
point in the West line of Grant Street.
THENCE South 26° 55' West with the said West line of Grant Street,
49.2 ft. to the intersection of Grant Street and the North R.O.W. line
of Avenue K extended.
THENCE North 63°05' West with the North R.O.W. line of said Avenue K
extended, 96.9 ft. to the place of beginning, and containing 0.05 ac.
of land.
be and is hereby closed and abandoned.
SECTION 2. That the presence of this triangular portion of Kessler
Avenue is delaying the development and the sale of the adjacent property creates
an urgent public necessity, requiring that this ordinance be passed an an emergency
. measure, and this ordinance is passed as an emergency measure and shall be in full
force and effect immediately from and after its passage.
