AN ORDINANCE NAMING THE PERIMETER ROAD IN LUCY PARK,
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, WILLIAMS MEMORIAL DRIVE.
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls
has been requested by the Wichita County Historical Commission to
honor the late J. W. Williams, the author, whose book "The Big
Ranch Country" about this area will live long after we are
gone; and
WHEREAS, the contributions made by J. W. Williams to the
understanding of and an appreciation for our western heritage
warrant the proposed recognition; and,
WHEREAS , the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls
believes that the naming of the perimeter road in Lucy Park will
create a lasting memorial to this distinguished author.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF
THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The perimeter road in Lucy Park is hereby named Williams
Memorial Drive to honor the late J. W. Williams.
