ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2840 TO INCREASE
THE EXEMPTION FROM AD VALOREM TAXES OF THE ASSESSED
TAXABLE VALUE OF RESIDENCE HOMESTEADS OF PERSONS
SIXTY-FIVE YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1 of Ordinance No. 2840 (codified as Section
28-6. 1 of the Code of Ordinances) is hereby amended to increase
the exemption stated therein from $4,000 to $5,000 for taxes
for the year 1978 , to $6 ,000 for taxes for the year 1979,
and $7 ,000 for taxes for the year 1980 and subsequent years.
