AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 29-91 OF THE CITY
. CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS,
TEXAS ESTABLISHING PRIMA FACIE MAXIMUM SPEED
LIMITS ON CERTAIN STREETS WITHIN THE CORPORATE
LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Sec. 29-91 of the Code of Ordinances Is hereby amended by making
the following changes In the subsections of said Section 29-91 as hereinafter set out,
towit:
"(G) Central Freeway East (U.S, 82-287).
Northbound and Westbound Traffic:
(2) 40 MPH From 2/10 mile south of 16th Street
northerly to a point 275 feet south of
16th Street.
(AK) Southwest Parkway (F. M. 369).
(5) 55 MPH From a point 200 feet west of Gregg
(west city limits) to a point 2/10 miles
west of Barnett Road.
(6) 50 MPH From a point 2/10 miles west of Barnett
Road to Lindale Street. "
SECTION 2. The fact that the prima facie speed limits set out in this ordinance
are necessary to the safe and orderly movement of traffic upon the streets of the
City of Wichita Falls, this ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure on the
ground that there is an urgent public need for the orderly flow of traffic upon the streets,
and a public need for the preservation of the peace, health and safety of the lives and
property of the citizens of the City. This ordinance shall, therefore, take effect im-
mediately upon its passage.
