Ord 3255 11/22/1977 ORDINANCE NO. 3255 ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2-100 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES , ESTABLISHING PUBLIC HOLIDAYS OF THE CITY, TO CORRECT THE DATES OF THANKSGIVING DAY AND MEMORIAL DAY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: Section 2-100 of the Code of Ordinances is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 2-100. Public holidays designated. Public holidays of the City shall mean the following days only: January 1st, or New Year' s Day; Last Monday in May, or Memorial Day; July 4th, or Independence Day; First Monday in September, or Labor Day; Fourth Thursday in November, or Thanksgiving Day; December 25th, or Christmas Day. When any one of the above days falls on Sunday, the Monday following such day shall be declared a holiday; when any one of the above days falls on Saturday, the Friday preceding such day shall be declared a holiday.
