Ord 3263 12/6/1977 PI ORDINANCE NO. ��` ORDINANCE ADDING SUBSECTION (14-2) TO SECTION 7-15 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, DEFINING AN ON-PREMISE SIGN AND AN OFF-PREMISE SIGN; AND ADDING SUBSECTION (18) TO SECTION 7-15 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, REGULATING THE LOCATION, STRUCTURE AND SIZE OF GROUND SIGNS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. Section 7-15 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Wichita Falls is hereby amended by the addition of a new subsection (14. 2) , to read as follows: " (14.2) Amend Section 2301. 2 (a) by adding sub-subsec- tions 8 and 9 to read as follows: 8. Off-Premise Sign - means a sign directing attention to any business, product, service, or activity not offered, sold, or conducted upon the same premises where such sign is located. 9. On-Premise Sign - means a sign pertaining to an activity, product, or business which is offered, sold, or conducted upon the same pre- mises where such sign is located. " SECTION 2. Section 7-15 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Wichita Falls is hereby amended by the addition of a new subsection (18) to read as follows: " (18) Amend Section 2303.1 by adding Subsections (h) , (i) , (j ) and (k) to read as follows: (h) No off-premise sign shall extend closer than twenty-five (25) feet to the street property line. Off-premise signs shall be located in obedience to all other building setbacks. (i) On-premise signs which are located between the property line and the building setback lines shall be supported by a single member not exceeding twelve (12) inches in dimension, shall have a sign face area not exceeding eighty (80) • • square feet, shall have a clearance from the surrounding grade to the bottom of the sign of not less than nine (9) feet, and shall not overhang the property line. (j) On-premise signs shall be limited to one per business. (k) Any existing sign not conforming to these aforementioned requirements shall be allowed to remain so long as the sign is not replaced or repaired to one-fourth (1/4) of its value or more.
