AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS,
TEXAS, BY ANNEXING CERTAIN LANDS ADJACENT TO THE TERRITORIAL LIMITS
OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, WHICH LANDS ARE DESCRIBED IN
THIS ORDINANCE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the following tracts of land located in Wichita County,
Texas, be and the same are hereby ordered to be annexed and to be included
within the corporate limits of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, and the
• corporate limits he extended so as to include said tracts of land in Wichita
County, Texas, the same being more particularly described as follow :
Tract I
BEING a tract of land located in Denton County School Lands , League 1, A-58
and Denton County School Lands, League 2, A-57, Wichita County, Texas, more fully
described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point, being the southwest corner of Tract V annexed by
Ordinance No. 2598; said point also being two hundred (200) feet south of the south
right-of-way line of the county road adjacent to the south line of Block One (1) ,
Wichita Falls School District Complex known as Athletic Road, and two hundred (200)
feet west of the west right-of-way line of a county road known as Gregg Road measured
at right angles thereto;
THENCE south parallel to and two hundred feet (200') west of said west right-
of-way line and west right-of-way line extended of Gregg Road to the north shore
line of Lake Wichita at spillway elevation;
THENCE easterly along the meanders of the north shore line of Lake Wichita at
spillway elevation to a point, said point being on an extension south of the north-
south block line between Blocks Forty-six (46) and Forty-seven (47) of Lake View
Farms Subdivision and also being the southerly most southwest corner of a tract of
land annexed by Ordinance No. 1892;
THENCE north along the present city limits line established by Ordinance No.
1892 to the most easterly northeast corner of the D. W. Wiley, Jr. property to a
point for a corner;
THENCE south eighty-eight degrees and fifty-five minutes west (S 88° 55 ' W)
seven hundred thirty-four feet (734') along the present city limits line established
by Ordinance No. 1892 to the most westerly southwest ell corner of the tract of land
annexed by said ordinance and an occupied property corner of the D. W. Wiley, Jr .
tract to a point for a corner;
THENCE north two degrees and twenty-eight minutes west (N 02° 28 ' U) one
thousand six hundred thirty-five point seven feet (1,635.7 ') along the present city
limits line established by Ordinance No. 1892 and the occupied property line of the
D. W. Wiley, Jr. tract to a point for a corner;
THENCE north fifty-three degrees and thirty-four minutes east (N 53° 34 ' E)
two hundred seventy-seven feet (277') along the present city limits line established
by Ordinance No. 1892 and the described property line shown on the recorded plat of
Lake View Manor Section Two to a point for a corner;
THENCE north twenty-five degrees and twenty-eight minutes east (N 25° 28 ' E)
along. the present city limits line established by Ordinance No. 1892 and the
described property line shown on the recorded plat of Lake View Manor Section Two
to a point in the south right-of-way line of Langford Lane, said point being in the
west line of said Section Two, Lake View •Manor to a point for a corner;
THENCE northwesterly along the present city limits line established by Ordinance
No. 2033 fifty feet (50') , more or less, to the beginning of a curve;
THENCE along a thirty-nine point seventy-eight degree (39 .78°) curve to the
left eighty-four feet (84 ') to the end of said curve and the east right-of-way line
of Cypress Avenue extended and in the present city limits line as established by
Ordinance No. 2033;
THENCE north sixty-two degrees eight minutes west (N 62° 08 'U) seventy feet
(70') to the west right-of-way line of Cypress Avenue and in the present city limits
line as established by Ordinance No. 2033;

THENCE west-northwest along the present city limits line established by
Ordinance No. 2205 a distance of one hundred seventy-eight point thirty-three feet
(178.33') along a fifteen degree fifty-six minute twenty-eight second (15 56' 28")
curve to the left having a radius of three hundred fifty-nine point forty-one feet
(359.41') to the end of said curve, being in the south line of Block One (1) Section
"F" of University Park as recorded in Wichita County Records;
THENCE along the present city limits line as established by Ordinance No. 2205,
south eighty-nine degrees forty-four minutes west (S 89° 44 'W) a distance of one
hundred sixty-nine point forty-two feet (169.42') to the southwest corner of Block
One (1) , Section "F" of University Park as recorded in Wichita County records;
THENCE along the present city limits line as established by Ordinance No. 2205,
north zero degrees sixteen minutes west (N 0° 16 ' W) to the point of intersection
with the city limits line as described in Ordinance No. 2598, Tract V as being two
hundred feet (200') south of and parallel to the south right-of-way of a county
road known as Athletic Road extended to the east to form this point of intersection;
THENCE east along the present city limits line established by Ordinance No.
2598, Tract V's south line, said line being two hundred feet (200' ) south and parallel
to the south right-of-way of a county road known as Athletic Road and its extension
to the east to the place of beginning, said tract of land containing four hundred
thirty-five point seventy-four (435.74) acres, more or less .
Tract II
BEING a tract of land located in the Lewis Wells Survey, A-323, Wichita County,
Texas, more fully described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the west line of the Lewis Wells Survey A-323 said
point bears north zero degrees four minutes west (N 0° 04 ' W) four thousand three
hundred ninety-five point twenty-three feet (4,395 .23') from the southwest corner
of said Lewis Wells Survey A-323, said point also being an ell corner of Expressway
Village, Section 2, an addition to the City of Wichita Falls, Texas and also being
the southwest corner of Greentree Subdivision, Blocks 5 - 8, an addition to the City
of Wichita Falls, Texas ;
THENCE south eighty-nine degrees fifty-three minutes east (S 89° 53' E) five
hundred thirty-two feet (532 ') along the south line of Greentree Subdivision,
Blocks 5 -. 8, and the north line of Expressway Village, Sections 2 and 3, being the
same line, to a point for a turning point;
THENCE south eighty-nine degrees fifty-four minutes east (S 89° 54 ' E) six
hundred thirty-two point zero three feet (632.03') along the south line of Greentree
Subdivision and the east-west annexation line between Tract I as described in
Ordinance No. 3025 and Tract IV as described in Ordinance No . 2828 being the same
line, to the southeast corner of Lot Three (3) , Block Five (5) of said Greentree
Subdivision;
THENCE eastward along the east-west annexation line between Tract I as
described in Ordinance No. 3025 and Tract IV as described in Ordinance No . 2838 and
the occupied property line that separates the ownership of Greentree Subdivision
lands and Expressway Village lands being the same line, a distance of one hundred
thirty-five point ninety-seven feet (135.97') , more or less, to the place of begin-
ning of this description;
THENCE eastward along the east-west annexation line between Tract I as described
in Ordinance No. 3025 and Tract IV as described in Ordinance No. 2838 and the occupied
property line that separates the ownership of Greentree Subdivision on the north and
Expressway Village lands along with property owned by Sam Houston on the south being
the same line, a distance of one thousand and seven point two feet (1 ,007 .2 ') , more
or less, to a point in the present city limits annexed by Tract I of Ordinance No .
2598, said point being three hundred feet (300') west of and measured perpendicular to
the west right-of-way line of State Highway 240 to a point for a corner;
THENCE northerly parallel to and three hundred feet (300' ) west of the west
right-of-way line of State Highway 240 and along the established city limits line
as described in Tract I of Ordinance No. 2598 a distance of seven hundred fifty-one
point six feet (751.6' ) more or less, on a bearing of north zero degrees twenty-one
minutes east (N 0 21' E) to the north property line of the area known as Greentree
Subdivision and the south property line of a tract of land owned by J . D. Thweatt,
being the same line, to a point for a corner;

THENCE north eighty-nine degrees fifty minutes west (N 89° 50' U) one
thousand and seven point two feet (1,007.2 ') more or less to the northeast corner
of Tract I as described in Ordinance No. 3025, said corner being south eighty-nine
degrees fifty minutes east (S 89° 50' E) one hundred eighty-nine point twenty-one
feet (189.21') from the northeast corner of Greentree Subdivision Blocks 5 - 8 as
recorded in Wichita County records;
THENCE south zero degrees four minutes east (S 0° 04' E) along the east line
of Tract I as described in Ordinance No. 3025 thirteen hundred feet (1,300') east
of and parallel to the west line of Lewis Wells Survey A-323 a distance of seven
hundred fifty-five point five feet (755.5' ) to the place of beginning, said tract
of land containing seventeen point thirty-eight (17 .38) acres, more or less.
SECTION 2. In conformity with Section 6 of Article 970a of the Revised
Civil Statutes of Texas, before these annexation proceedings were instituted,
the Board of Aldermen called a public hearing on November 1, 1977 to provide
an opportunity for all interested persons to be heard; notice of such hearing
was published once in the Wichita Falls Record News not more than twenty (20)
days nor less than ten (10) days prior to the public hearing. Such public
hearing was held on November 22, 1977 which was not more than twenty (20) days
nor less than ten (10) days prior to the institution of these annexation pro-
ceedings.
SECTION 3. In conformity with Section 3-A of the amended Charter of the
City of Wichita Falls, Texas, this ordinance is on the 6th day of December,
1977 introduced and the City Clerk is directed to publish said ordinance one
(1) time in a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Wichita
Falls, Texas, and seven (7) days thereafter this ordinance may be finally acted
upon.
SECTION 4. The fact that this is an urbanizing area, and City safety,
health and police controls and measures will be needed, creates an emergency,
and it is hereby declared that this ordinance is an emergency measure on the
grounds of public need for the preservation of the peace, health, and safety of
property of the city, and this ordinance shall go into effect immediately upon
its passage.
This ordinance having been introduced on the 6th day of December, 1977
and having been published in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of
Wichita Falls, Texas, to wit, the Wichita Falls Record News, one (1) time, on the
10th day of December , 1977 and seven (7) days after such publication
having elapsed, this ordinance is finally passed and approved this the _ee,
