Ord 3277 1/3/1978 ORDINANCE NO. 3277 ORDINANCE AMENDING SEC. 25-15 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES PROVIDING THAT THE CITY CLERK SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ISSUANCE OF DANCE HALL LICENSES; AND AMENDING SEC. 25-16 CORRECTING AN ERROR IN THE MINIMUM FEE TO BE CHARGED FOR AN ANNUAL DANCE HALL LICENSE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. Sec. 25-15 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Wichita Falls is hereby amended to read as follows: "Sec. 25-15. The application for the license, required by this article, shall be made in writing by the owner or lessee of such hall and filed with the City Clerk, who is authorized to issue the license. The City Clerk shall refer all applications for dance hall licenses to the Chief of Police who shall investigate the application, or cause same to be investigated to determine whether the dance hall sought to be licensed complies with the regulations, ordinances and laws applicable thereto, as hereinafter set out, but in making such investigation, the Police Chief, if he desires, shall have the assistance of the Police Department, Health Department and the Chief of the Fire Department. The Chief of Police shall furnish the City Clerk, in writing, the information derived from such investigation, accompanied by a recommendation as to whether a license should be granted or refused. In the event the City Clerk refuses or neglects to issue the license, then the applicant may appeal to the Board of Aldermen for a hearing to determine if such license should be issued. The decision of the Board of Aldermen as to whether or not a dance hall license should be issued shall be final. No license shall be renewed except after inspection of the premises. Each license granted herein shall expire the 1st day of January of each year, and the license shall be posted in a conspicuous place within the hall in which the dance is held. " r SECTION 2.
