AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING A PORTION OF BRIDGE
STREET LYING BETWEEN MADISON STREET AND JEFFERSON STREET
IN THE ORIGINAL TOWNSITE OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS.
WHEREAS, that portion of Bridge Street lying between the south right-of-way
line of Madison Street and the north right-of-way line of Jefferson Street has
an existing right-of-way width of one hundred feet, which is in excess of City
requirements, and;
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas deems it
advisable and in the public interest to close that portion of Bridge Street here-
inafter described, so as to reduce the width of such right-of-way to fifty feet.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. That portion of Bridge Street which is described as follows:
A twenty-five (25) foot strip of right-of-way of Bridge Street adjacent
to and abutting lots 1 through 7, Block 22, Original Townsite, and a
twenty-five (25) foot strip of right-of-way of Bridge Street adjacent
to and abutting lots 8 through 14, Block 21, Original Townsite,
be and the same is hereby closed and abandoned.
SECTION 2. The City of Wichita Falls, Texas, hereby reserves an easement
in said land for the purpose of laying and maintaining all kind and character of
utility lines including water, gas, electric, telephone and power lines, sanitary
and storm sewers and drainage ditches; no structures shall be built on said ease-
ment.
