ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2-1 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES, CHANGING THE TIME OF THE FIRST
REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN IN
APRIL, 1978 TO 8 :30 O'CLOCK A. M. ON APRIL 3 , 1978 .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 2-1 of the Code of Ordinances is hereby amended
to provide that the first meeting of the Board of Aldermen
in April, 1978 shall be at 8 : 30 o' clock A. M. on April 3,
1978. When the regular business of such meeting has been
completed, the meeting will be recessed until 8 : 00 o'clock
P. M. on the same day, at which time the returns of the
municipal election will be canvassed and the newly elected
aldermen sworn in.
The fact that there is business which needs to be con-
sidered by the present Board of Aldermen, prior to the swearing
in of the newly elected Aldermen, creates an emergency, and
this ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure which
shall become effective immediately upon its passage.
