RESOLUTION APPROVING AND ADOPTING A POLICE
STEP PAY PLAN.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
There is hereby approved and adopted the Police Step Pay
Plan which is attached hereto and made a part hereof. Such pay
plan shall be made to conform to State mandated longevity pay
provided for in Article 1269q, Revised Civil Statutes, and the total
amount of money necessary to implement such pay plan and State man-
dated longevity shall not exceed the amount as set out in the attached
pay plan.
This plan shall become effective October 1, 1982.

SUBJECT: Police Pay Initiative, Additional Modified Longevity Plans
At your request, two additional modified longevity options have been analyzed. In
order to provide a complete summary, these options are compared with Option One
and Option Two as presented in the April 20, 1982 memorandum, "Further Information,
Police Salary Initiative."
OPTIONS COVERED
The following options have all been analyzed as to cost for FY 82-83 and for a four
year period (FY 81-82 through FY 84-85).

Options One and Two were those presented in the April 20, 1982 memorandum. Options
Three and Four are variations on Options One and Two. The major difference is that
these two options increase the amount of longevity earlier in an officer's career.
Table 1 below presents the cost figures on all of these options for FY 82-83.
Table 2 presents four year costs.
