ORDINANCE CALLING A REFERENDUM ELECTION ON
ORDINANCE NO. 3305 (CATV) AND SUSPENDING
THE EFFECT OF THE ORDINANCE UNTIL THE
REFERENDUM ELECTION.
WHEREAS , on April 3 , 1978, the Board of Aldermen
adopted Ordinance No. 3305, which established the right
and privilege of Vista Cablevision, Inc. to construct,
operate and maintain a cable television system within the
City of Wichita Falls; and,
WHEREAS , at the same meeting, the Board of Aldermen
passed a motion that Ordinance No. 3305 be submitted to a
referendum election to be held on the second Saturday in
August, 1978.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF
ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. An election shall be held in the City of
Wichita Falls, Texas on August 12, 1978 , at which elec -
tion there shall be submitted to the voters the proposi-
tion as to whether or not Ordinance No. 3305 shall be
repealed.
SECTION 2. In such referendum election, there shall
appear upon the official ballot the following ballot title:
) "Ordinance No. 3305 granting to Vista
FOR
) Cablevision, Inc. the right to con-
)
) struct and operate a cable television
AGAINST )
) system within the City. "
SECTION 3. Ordinance No. 3305 shall not go into
effect unless approved by the electors at said election,
just as though a sufficient referendum petition had been
filed by the required number of electors under the charter
of the City.
PASSED AND APPROVED this the 18th day of April, 1978.
