AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING A PORTION OF GARFIELD
STREET LYING BETWEEN BLOCKS 100 AND 171 AND AN UNNAMED
EAST-WEST STREET LYING BETWEEN BLOCKS 171 AND 173 IN THE
HIGHLAND ADDITION TO WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS
WHEREAS, the portion of Garfield Street lying between Blocks 100 and
171 and the unnamed east-west street lying between Blocks 171 and 173 in the
Highland Addition are in excess of City requirements; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas deems
it advisable and in the public interest to close these streets hereinafter des-
cribed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
That portion of Garfield Street and an unnamed City street,
being 60 feet in width and bordered by Block 100, Block 171
and 173, Highland Addition, an addition to the City of Wichita
Falls, Texas, and being more specifically described by metes
and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at the point of intersection of the south right-of-way
line of Arizona Street and the northwest right-of-way line of
Grant Street (now Kemp Boulevard) , said point also being the
east corner of Block 100, said Highland Addition;
THENCE north 89° 21' west 156.52 feet along said south right-of-way
line of Arizona Street to its point of intersection with the east
right-of-way line of Garfield Street for the northwest corner of
said Block 100 and the place of beginning of this description;
THENCE south 00° 00' west 170.10 feet along said east right-of-way
line of Garfield Street to its point of intersection with the
northwest right-of-way line of Kemp Boulevard for corner;
THENCE south 42° 55' west 125.66 feet along said northwest right-
of-way line of Kemp Boulevard to its point of intersection with
the south right-of-way line of an unnamed City street for corner;
THENCE north 89° 21' west 294.43 feet along said south right-of-way
line of an unnamed City street to its point of intersection with
the east line of a Texas Electric Service Company easement as
recorded in Volume 364, page 327, Wichita County Deed Records, for
the northwest corner of said Block 173 for corner;
THENCE north 00° 00' east 60.00 feet along said east line of said
Texas Electric Service Company easement to its point of intersection
with the north right-of-way line of said unnamed City street for
the southwest corner of said Block 171 for corner;
THENCE south 89° 21' east 320.00 feet along said north right-of-way
line of said unnamed City street to its point of intersection with
the west right-of-way line of Garfield Street for the southeast
'corner of said Block 171 for corner;
THENCE north 00° 00' east 203.10 feet along said west right-of-way
line of Garfield Street to its point of intersection with the south
right-of-way line of Arizona Street for the northeast corner of said
Block 171 for corner;
THENCE south 89° 21' east 60.00 feet along said south right-of-way
line of Arizona Street to the place of beginning and containing
0.71 acres, more or less.
