ORDINANCE INCREASING CERTAIN SANITATION
RATES; CREATING A RESERVE ACCOUNT; DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS THAT:
SECTION 1. SUBSECTION (1) of Section 17-19 of the
Code of Ordinances is hereby amended to read as follows:
" (1) Single-family unit served from alley. $2. 25"
SECTION 2. Section 17-19 of the Code of Ordinances
is hereby amended by adding Subsection (1. 1) which shall
read as follows:
" (1. 1) Single-family unit served from $3. 00"
curb.
SECTION 3. There is hereby created a reserve account
in the General Fund into which will be deposited each year
$100, 000. 00 of the revenue from fees for garbage and refuse
collection; the money in such reserve account shall be used
to purchase refuse containers and to repay the General Revenue
Sharing Trust Fund for money from that fund which has been
spent on refuse containers.
SECTION 4. The fact that the present fees charged
for refuse collection from the curb is insufficient to pay
the cost of such service creates an emergency, and this
ordinance shall become effective upon its passage.
