AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS,
TEXAS, BY ANNEXING CERTAIN LANDS ADJACENT TO THE TERRITORIAL LIMITS
OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, WHICH LANDS ARE DESCRIBED IN
THIS ORDINANCE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the following tracts of land located in Wichita County,
Texas, be and the same are hereby ordered to be annexed and to be included
within the corporate limits of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, and the
corporate limits be extended so as to include said tracts of land in Wichita
County, Texas, the same being more particularly described as follows:
TRACT I
BEING a tract of land located in the M. Carbajal Survey, Abstract No. 44,
Wichita County, Texas, more fully described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point, being the northwest corner of Block One, Unit One,
Arrowhead Industrial District, said point also being the point of intersection
of the east right-of-way line of Burkburnett Road and the centerline of the
Northside Irrigation Canal;
THENCE south 23° 36' east 2,123.8 feet along the east right-of-way line
of Burkburnett Road to a point for a corner;
THENCE south 19° 36' east 211.0 feet to a point for a corner;
THENCE south 120 1' east 324 feet, more or less to a point for a corner,
said point also being a point in the North Boundary Line of the S.L.B. Jasper
Survey;
THENCE in -an easterly direction along the present city_ limits line 795
feet, more or less;
THENCE north 00° 10' east 200 feet to a point, said line being along the
west line of a tract annexed in 1973 and described in Ordinance No. 2838 as
Tract II;
THENCE north 00 013' east 550 feet to a point for a .corner, said line
being along said Tract;
THENCE south 890 47' east 871.0 feet along the south right-of-way line of
Randy Drive to a point for a corner, said point also being the northeast
corner of said Tract II annexed by Ordinance No. 2838;
THENCE north 00° 13' east 260 feet to a point for a corner;
THENCE in a westerly direction, 200 feet north of, measured at right-
angles, and parallel to Randy Drive to a point in the east line of Block One,
Unit One, Arrowhead Industrial District;
THENCE north 23° 36' west along the east line of said Block One, Unit One
to a point for a corner, said point being on the centerline of the Northside
Irrigation Canal;
THENCE south 89° 36' west along said canal centerline 339.58 feet to a
point for a corner;
THENCE north 730 16' west along said canal centerline 62.2 feet to a point
for a corner;
THENCE north 470 05' west along said canal centerline 352.5 feet to the
place of beginning, said tract of land containing 42.87 acres, more or less.

BEING a tract of land located in Blocks 25 and 30, Kemp and Newby Sub-
division, Cherokee County School Lands, Abstract No. 33, Wichita County, Texas,
more fully described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point, being the northeast corner of a tract of land annexed
in 1967 by Ordinance No. 2331, said point also being the northeast corner of Tract
One, Unit Two, Expressway East Industrial District;
THENCE south 19_ °53'15" west 216.91 feet along the present city limits line
as described in Ordinance No. 2331 to a point;
THENCE SOUTH 01° 07'26" west 346.9 feet to a point in the present city

BEING a tract of land located in Block 10 and Block 11, Cherokee County
School Lands, Abstract No. 33, Wichita County, Texas, more fully described as
follows:
BEGINNING at a point, being the southwest corner of Block 10, Cherokee
County School Lands, Abstract No. 33; said corner also being a point in the
east line of a tract of land annexed in 1973 and described in Ordinance No.
2838 as Tract III;
THENCE northerly along the West Boundary Line of Block 10, Cherokee County
School Lands, Abstract No. 33, 260 feet to a point for a corner;
THENCE north 89° 55' east 488.2 feet to a point for a corner, said line
also being 320.0 feet north of and parallel to the south right-of-way line of
.Midwestern Parkway;
THENCE south 677.8 feet to a point for a corner, said point also being the

THENCE west 488.2 feet to a point for a corner; said corner also being a

taining 7.60 acres, more or less.
SECTION 2. In conformity with Section 6 of Article 970a of the Revised
Civil Statutes of Texas, before these annexation proceedings were instituted,
the Board of Aldermen called a public hearing on November 7, 1978 to provide
an opportunity for all interested persons to be heard; notice of such hearing
was published once in the Wichita Falls Record News not more than twenty (20)
days nor less than ten (10) days prior to the public hearing. Such public
hearing was held on November 21, 1978 which was not more than twenty (20)
days nor less than ten (10) days prior to the institution of the annexation
proceedings.
SECTION 3. In conformity with Section 3-A of the amended Charter of the
City of Wichita Falls, Texas, this ordinance is on the 5th day of December ,.
1978 introduced and the City Clerk is directed to publish said ordinance one
(1) time in a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Wichita
Falls, Texas, and seven (7) days thereafter this ordinance may be finally
acted upon.
SECTION 4. The fact that this is an urbanizing area, and City safety,
health and police controls and measures will be needed, creates an emergency,
and it is hereby declared that this ordinance is an emergency measure on the
grounds of public need for the preservation of the peace, health, and safety '
of property of the city, and this ordinance shall go into effect immediately
upon its passage.
This ordinance having been introduced on the 5th day of December
1978 , and having been published in a newspaper of general circulation in the
City of Wichita Falls, Texas, to wit, the Wichita Falls Record News, one (1)
time, on the 8th day of December , 1978 and seven (7) days after such
publication having elapsed, this ordina ce is finally passed and approved this
