ORDINANCE AMENDING CODE OF ORDINANCE SECTION
32-21 WHICH REQUIRES A DEPOSIT FOR ALL PERSONS
DESIRING TO USE CITY WATER.
WHEREAS, the average residential water bill has increased
substantially over the preceding twenty years; and,
WHEREAS, the deposit is now substantially less than the
estimated amount of a two month water bill.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS , TEXAS, THAT:
Section 32-21 of the Code of Ordinances is hereby amended
to read as follows:
"All persons desiring to use city water shall
make a money deposit with the Utility Collec-
tion Department. The amount of said deposit
shall be a reasonable sum to protect the City
from loss due to unpaid bills and shall not
substantially exceed the estimated amount
of a two (2) month bill and in no case shall
be less than twenty dollars ($20. 00) for
each service connection. "
