AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING A PORTION OF 27TH STREET
BETWEEN BLOCK 3 AND BLOCK 4 HOLLIDAY GARDENS, AND A PORTION
OF TRAVIS STREET LYING BETWEEN BLOCK 3 AND BLOCK 4 HOLLIDAY
GARDENS, AND BLOCK 2 HIGHWAY ADDITION TO WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS
WHEREAS, the Planning Board has recommended the closure of portions
of said streets; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas
deems it advisable and in the public interest to close these streets hereinafter
described.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. That portion of 27th Street lying south of Block 3 and
north of Block 4, Holliday Gardens and east of the east right-of-way line of
Jasper Street and west of the west right-of-way line of Travis Street be and
the same is hereby closed and abandoned.
SECTION 2. That portion of Travis Street lying west of Block 2
Highway Addition, south of the south right-of-way line of 26th Street, north
of the northerly right-of-way line of Old Jacksboro Highway, and east of Block
3 and Block 4, Holliday Gardens be and the same is hereby closed and abandoned.
SECTION 3. The City of Wichita Falls hereby reserves an easement in
said land contained in the closed portion of Travis Street for the purpose of
laying and maintaining all kind and character of utility lines including water,
gas, electric, telephone, and power lines, sanitary and storm sewers and
drainage ditches; no structures including fences, shall be built on such
easement.
