AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING A PORTION OF NORTH BROOK
STREET BETWEEN BLOCK 1, SCOTLAND ADDITION, AND BLOCK 24, ORIGINAL
TOWNSITE, AND A PORTION OF JEFFERSON STREET BETWEEN BLOCK 24 AND
BLOCK 33, ORIGINAL TOWNSITE ADDITIONS TO WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS
WHEREAS, the Planning Board has recommended the closure of portions
of said streets; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas deems
it advisable and in the public interest to close these streets hereinafter described.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS THAT:
SECTION 1. That portion of North Brook Street lying East of Block 1,
Scotland Addition, and West of Block 24, Original Townsite, more fully described
as follows:
BEGINNING at a point which bears East 600.0 feet from the Southwest
corner of Block 1, Scotland Addition, as recorded in Volume 1, Page 56,
Wichita County Plat Records.
THENCE East 30.0 feet.
THENCE North 115.1 feet
THENCE Northwesterly 31.0 feet along a curve to the left having a
radius of 2,818.04 feet
THENCE South 122.8 feet to place of beginning and containing .08
acres of land, more or less
be and the same is hereby closed and abandoned.
SECTION 2. That portion of Jefferson Street lying south of Block 24,
and north of Block 33 all in the Original Townsite, more fully described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point which bears N 55° 13' E 175.0 feet and N 34°
47' W 350.0 feet from the Southwest corner of Block 33, Wichita Falls
Original Townsite, as recorded in Volume 5, Pages 21 and 23,
Wichita County Plat Records.
THENCE N 34° 47' W 80.0 feet
THENCE N 55° 13' E 150.0 feet
THENCE S 34° 47' E 80.0 feet
THENCE S 55° 13' W 150.0 feet to place of beginning and containing .28
acres of land, more or less.
be and the same is hereby closed and abandoned.
SECTION 3. The City of Wichita Falls, Texas, hereby reserves an
easement in a portion of said land for the purpose of laying and maintaining all
kind and character of utility lines, including water, gas, electric, telephone and
power lines, sanitary and storm sewers and drainage ditches; no structures shall be
built by the landowner on said easement.
