ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING PORTIONS OF
4TH STREET, PARK STREET AND GRANGER STREET.
WHEREAS, heretofore the City of Wichita Falls, the State
Highway Department and the Fort Worth and Denver Railway
Company entered into a contract regarding the relocation of
railroad facilities for the construction of Kell Freeway,
and in such agreement it was provided that the following
portions of 4th Street, Park Street and Granger Street were
to be closed where they crossed the railroad; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen deem it advisable and in
the public interest to close and abandon those portions of
streets hereinafter described.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. That portion of 4th Street between Ohio Avenue
and Michigan Avenue is hereby closed and abandoned.
SECTION 2. That portion of Park Street, from the north
right-of-way line of the Fort Worth and Denver between Blocks
G and I , Granger & Ballow Addition, to a line which begins at
the southeast corner of Lot 10, Block B, Granger & Ballow
Addition, and runs southeasterly parallel with the right-of-
way line of the Fort Worth and Denver to a point in the
east right-of-way line of Park Street, is hereby closed and
abandoned.
SECTION 3. That portion of Granger Street, between
Park Street and a line which begins at the northwest corner
of Lot 9 , Block B, Granger & Ballow Addition, and runs north-
westerly parallel to the right-of-way of the Fort Worth and
Denver to a point in the north right-of-way line of Granger
Street, is hereby closed and abandoned.
SECTION 4. There is hereby reserved in the portions of
streets described above an easement for all utility lines.
