ORDINANCE SUSPENDING COMPETITIVE BIDDING REQUIRE-
MENTS OF ARTICLE 2368a, VERNON'S CIVIL STATUTES,
CITY CHARTER AND LOCAL ORDINANCES, RESOLUTIONS
AND POLICIES.
WHEREAS, a State of Disaster Emergency was declared by Ordinances 3450
and 3455 extending thru April 25, 1979.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF
THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The operations of the competitive bidding requirements of Article
2368a, VATCS, City Charter, and Local Ordinances, Resolutions and Policies are
suspended for a period of thirty (30) days after the date of this ordinance.
SECTION 2. City Officials shall diligently solicit and procure, insofar as
practicable, bids, quotations, or estimates of material, labor and other costs for
those purchases, goods and works described in Article 2368a, VATCS, City Charter
and local ordinances, resolutions and policies, prior to entering into a contract there-
for and shall award such contract, to the lowest and best bid, quotation or estimate
received.
SECTION 3. Because of the state of emergency and destruction of public pro-
perty, this Ordinance is declared an emergency measure, and shall become effective
upon its adoption.
