AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 29-91 OF THE CITY,CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS ESTABLISHING
PRIMA FACIE MAXIMUM SPEED LIMITS ON CERTAIN STREETS WITHIN
THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS,
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Sec. 29-91 of the Code of Ordinances is hereby amended by
making the following changes in the subsections of said Section 29-91 as hereinafter
set out, towit:
"(A) Airport Drive (F. M. 890):
(1) 45 MPH From west frontage road of Central
Freeway (U.S. 277-281) to a point 1/4
mile east of the west frontage road of
Central Freeway (U.S. 277-281).
(2) 40 MPH From a point 1/4 mile east of the west
frontage road of Central Freeway (U.S. 277--
281) to Burkburnett Road (S.H. 240)."
SECTION 2. Section 29-91 of the Code of Ordinances is hereby amended by
adding a new paragraph (AU) to read as follows:
"(AU) Allendale Road (F.M. 2650):
(1) 45 MPH From Seymour Highway (U.S. 82-277)
South to a point located 860 feet south
of the centerline of Seymour Highway
(U.S. 82-277).
(2) 45 MPH From Southwest Parkway (F.M. 369) to
a point located 777.02 feet north of the
north right-of-way line of Southwest Parkway
(F.M. 369). "
SECTION 3. The fact that the prima facie speed limits set out in this ordinance
are necessary to the safe and orderly movement of traffic upon the streets of the qty
of Wichita Falls, this ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure on the ground
that there is an urgent public need for the orderly flow of traffic upon the streets,
and a public need for the preservation of the peace, health and safety of the lives and
property of the citizens of the City. This ordinance shall, therefore, take effect ink-
mediately upon its passage.
