ORDINANCE CREATING THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS
DISASTER RELIEF TRUST FUND.
WHEREAS, the April 10, 1979 tornado has caused extensive
damage and destruction of real and personal property of the
citizens of Wichita Falls; and,
WHEREAS, monetary contributions are being received by
the City of Wichita Falls to aid these stricken citizens in
their recovery efforts.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. A fund to be called the City of Wichita
Falls Disaster Relief Trust Fund is hereby created to account
for the monetary contributions received by the City of Wichita
1 Falls for aiding tornado disaster victims, and to account for
the distribution of these monies to tornado victims or to agen-
cies that have assisted tornado victims.
SECTION 2. The fact that some of these monies have been
received, and that there are thousands of victims of the April 10, 1979
tornado who are in need of aid, create an emergency, and
this ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure which
shall become effective upon its passage.
