ORDINANCE AMENDING SUBSECTION (E) OF SECTION
14-49 OF CHAPTER 14 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES
(ELECTRICAL CODE) TO ALLOW DIRECT BURIAL CABLE
WIRING OF CERTAIN MOBILE HOMES INSTALLED BY
U. S. GOVERNMENT FOR A TEMPORARY TIME.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Subsection (E) of Section 14-49 of Chapter
14 of the Code of Ordinances (Electrical Code) is hereby amended
by adding the following paragraph at the end of such subsection:
"Any installation of a mobile home installed
by the U. S. Government or its contractors
shall not be required to have a conduit, but
may have direct burial cable. "
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be automatically repealed
one year from the date of its passage.
SECTION 3. The shortage of housing for persons displaced
by the April 10, tornado creates an emergency; this ordinance
is declared to be an emergency measure, and it shall become
effective upon its passage.
