ORDINANCE EXTENDING TERMS OF MEMBERS OF THE
MAYOR'S COMMISSION ON THE STATUS OF WOMEN,
AND AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2967 TO CREATE
AN EX OFFICIO MEMBER CATEGORY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The terms of office of all members of the Mayor' s
Commission on the Status of Women which expire on April 22, 1980
are hereby extended to expire on September 30, 1980; the terms
of office of all members on such commission which expire on
April 22, 1981, are hereby extended to expire on September 30,
1981. At the expiration of these terms, each member shall be
appointed for a term of two years, or until a successor is named.
SECTION 2. Ordinance No. 2967 is hereby amended by adding
a new Section 2. 1 which shall read as follows:
"SECTION 2. 1. in addition to the fifteen members, the
commission shall have one ex officio member, who shall be appoint-
ed by a majority vote of the Board of Aldermen; the first ex officio
member appointed shall serve for a term ending September 30, 1981;
thereafter, the ex officio member shall be appointed for a term of
two years or until a successor is named. The ex officio member
shall have the same qualifications and be subject to the same res-
trictions as the members of the commission; however, the ex officio
member shall not have a vote and shall not be considered in deter-
mining the presence of a quorum. "
