ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 22-1 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES, TO PROHIBIT DRIVING VEHICLES OR
HORSES OR OTHER ANIMALS IN OR OVER ANY PUBLIC
SCHOOL GROUNDS.
WHEREAS, Section 22-1, Subsection (a) of the Code of
Ordinances prohibits driving any vehicle or horse or other
animal in any park except upon park drives; and,
WHEREAS, it has been found that this prohibition should
be extended to public school grounds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
That certain paragraph entitled, "Driving vehicles or
animals in parks" in Subsection (a) of Section 22-1 of the
Code of Ordinances, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Driving vehicles or animals in parks and public
school grounds. It shall be unlawful for any person to
drive or propel any vehicle or drive any horse or other
animal in, over or through any park or public school ground,
excepting along and upon streets or driveways, or to drive
or propel along or over any park drives or parkways any
heavy laden vehicles or any vehicles carrying merchandise,
goods, material or rubbish or any milk wagons, market wagons,
dirt cart, moving vans, dray or truck. "
