AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 30-2, SUBSECTION
(a) OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES TO RESTRICT TO
THE CITY LIMITS THE PROHIBITION AGAINST LOCA-
TION OF MOBILE HOMES OUTSIDE OF MOBILE HOME
PARKS AND SUBDIVISIONS.
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 3489 amended Section 30-2 of
the Code of Ordinances to prohibit location of mobile homes
outside of mobile home parks and mobile home subdivisions,
with certain exceptions; and,
WHEREAS, it was meant to limit such prohibition to the
city limits of Wichita Falls.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Section 30-2, Subsection (a) of the Code of
Ordinances is hereby amended to read as follows:
"a. Within the city limits of Wichita Falls, no person
shall park or occupy any mobile home outside an approved
mobile home park or mobile home subdivision; except, the
parking of only one mobile home behind the building setback
lines of a platted lot is permitted, provided no living
quarters shall be maintained in such mobile home while such
mobile home is so parked or stored. Further, mobile homes
used as field offices during construction and mobile homes
displayed for sale on mobile homes sales lots and mobile
home manufacturing plants are permitted. "
SECTION 2. The damage and destruction to thousands
of homes in the City by the April 10, 1979 tornado creates
an emergency; this ordinance is declared to be an emergency
measure, and it shall become effective upon its passage.
