AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION IV OF ORDINANCE
NO, 1631, AS AMENDED, INCREASING THE RATE OF
FARE TO BE CHARGED BY TAXICABS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Section IV of Ordinance No. 1631, as amended, is hereby
amended by adding the following:
(6) A surcharge of 6% shall be added to the total fare as determined from
the above rates to off-set fuel increases since October 1, 1978.
(7) The City Manager is authorized to approve a higher or lower surcharge
each month beginning August 1, 1979 based upon invoices for fuel as presented by the
taxicab company, using July 1, 1979 fuel costs as a base.
SECTION 2. The fact that the public convenience and necessity requires the
operation of taxicab service in the City of Wichita Falls makes this an emergency
measure, and it shall become effective immediately.
