ORDINANCE WAIVING REQUIREMENTS OF CHAPTER III
(FIRE DISTRICT) OF THE BUILDING CODE WITH REGARD
TO THE OLD BURKBURNETT RAILROAD DEPOT BUILDING.
WHEREAS, the Wichita County Heritage Society has requested
that they be allowed to locate the old Burkburnett railroad
depot building in the Depot Square Historic District on
property owned by the Fort Worth and Denver Railroad Company
south of the Farmers ' Market; and,
WHEREAS, this building is constructed from wood materials,
which is prohibited in the Fire District, but it is deemed
desirable to place this old building near the site of the
original Wichita Falls depot.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The provisions of Chapter III, entitled Fire District,
of the Building Code are hereby waived to allow the locating
of the old Burkburnett railroad depot building at such loca-
tion in the Depot Square Historic District.
