AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING A PORTION OF LAMAR
STREET BETWEEN BLOCKS 5 & 6 HOLLIDAY GARDENS, A SUBDIVI
SION OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS
WHEREAS, the Planning Board has recommended the closure of a portion
of said street; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas
deems it advisable and in the public interest to close and abandon that portion
of a street hereinafter described.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS THAT:
SECTION 1. That portion of Lamar Street lying east of Block 5,
Holliday Gardens, south of the southerly right-of-way line of Old Jacksboro
Highway, west of Block 6, Holliday Gardens and north of the north right-of-way
line of 28th Street be and the same is hereby closed and abandoned.
SECTION 2. The City of Wichita Falls hereby reserves an easement
in said land contained in the closed portion of Lamar Street for the purpose of
laying and maintaining all kind and character of utility lines, including water,
gas, electric, telephone and power lines, sanitary and storm sewers and drainage
ditches; no structures shall be built by the landowner on said easement.
