AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING A PORTION OF NORTON
AVENUE EAST OF THE SOUTHERLY RIGHT-OF-WAY OF F.M. 171
AND WEST OF THE WEST RIGHT-OF-WAY OF THORNBERRY ROAD
WHEREAS, the Planning Board has recommended the closure of the
portion of said street; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls deems
it advisable and in the public interest to close this portion of street
hereinafter described.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The portion of Norton Avenue east of the southerly right-
of-way of F.M. 171 and west of the west right-of-way of Thornberry Road, being
more specifically described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at the S.E. Cor. of this tract in the West R.O.W. line of
Thornberry Road. The S.E. Cor. of the S.L.B. Jasper Sur., A-168,
brs. South 350.0 ft.
THENCE West 75.1 ft. iron stake for Cor. in the South R.O.W. line
of F.M. Hwy. No. 171.
THENCE Northeasterly, along a curve to the left whose radius is
613.0 ft. and whose central angle is 55°32' and whose chord brs.
N.54°02'E. 85.1 ft. iron stake for Cor.
THENCE East 6.2 ft. iron stake for Cor.
THENCE South, with the West R.O.W. line of said Thornberry Road,
50.0 ft. to the place of beginning and containing 0.04 acre of
land.
be and the same is hereby closed and abandoned.
SECTION 2. The City of Wichita Falls, Texas, hereby reserves ease-
ments in said land for the purpose of laying and maintaining all kind and
character of utility lines including water, gas, electric, telephone and power
lines, sanitary and storm sewers and drainage ditches; no structures shall be
built on said easement.
