ORDINANCE WAIVING SECTION 24-8 OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES FOR A GUN AND KNIFE SHOW TO BE
HELD AT THE ACTIVITIES CENTER ON NOVEMBER 22
AND 23, 1980.
WHEREAS, Section 24-8 of the Code of Ordinances requires
any retailer who loans, sells or rents a pistol to fill out
a form with certain data concerning the purchaser, including
fingerprints of such purchaser; and,
WHEREAS, a Gun and Knife Show is planned for the
Activities Center on November 22 and 23, 1980, and the
sponsors of such show are of the opinion that such ordinance
will be a prohibiting factor, because exhibitors will not
operate under this paperwork requirement; and,
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the Board of Aldermen that
this is an exceptional situation, and one that was not
expected to be covered by such ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT :
The provisions of Section 24-8 of the Code of Ordinances
of the City of Wichita Falls are waived insofar as they may
apply to the exhibitors at the Gun and Knife Show to be held
at the Wichita Falls Activities Center on November 22 and 23 ,
1980.
