RESOLUTION APPROVING CHANGE ORDER AND ACCEPTING
CONSTRUCTION OF PARKING LOT AND PLAY AREA AT
BELLEVUE PARK BY BOYD CURTIS CONSTRUCTION.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls and Boyd Curtis, d/b/a
Boyd Curtis Construction, as contractor, entered into a contract
dated June 9 , 1983 for the construction of a parking lot and play
area at Bellevue Park; and,
WHEREAS , a change order has been submitted, which reduces the
19 spaces in the parking lot to 16 spaces in order to retain a very
large pecan tree (which reduces the contract by $2 ,368 .15) , and
enlarges the play area to correct a miscalculation in the original
plan (which increases the contract by $2 , 821 .04) ; such change order
increases the contract amount by $452 .89; and,
WHEREAS, the construction has been completed in accordance with
the plans and specifications; and,
WHEREAS, the original contract price of $24 , 994 .00 has been
increased to $25, 446 . 89 by such change order; of this amount, $23 , 269 .41
has been paid, leaving a balance due to the contractor of $2 ,177 .48 .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS , TEXAS, THAT:
The change order is hereby approved, the construction of the
project is hereby accepted, and the City Manager is authorized and
directed to pay to the contractor the balance due as set out above.
