RESOLUTION CREATING THE TEXAS SESQUICENTENNIAL
COMMISSION.
WHEREAS, Texas has a long and glorious history, and through the
efforts of its sons and daughters has made a major impact on the
course of world history;; and
WHEREAS , Texas will soon celebrate the One Hundred and Fiftieth
Anniversary of its creation as a sovereign entity; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls desires to assist in the
promotion of this celebration.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1 . The Texas Sesquicentennial Commission is hereby
established.
SECTION 2 . The Commission shall consist of not less than eleven
nor more than twenty-one members who will be confirmed by the City
Council. The City Council shall appoint a Chairman and Vice-Chairman.
SECTION 3 . The Commission will be responsible for the coordina-
tion of activities celebrating the Texas Sesquicentennial .
