Res 182-83 9/20/1983RESOLUTION NO. //j-f3 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING DEED OF OLD FOWLER HOME PROPERTY TO THE WICHITA FALLS COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH MENTAL RETARDATION CENTER. WHEREAS, on July 6, 1976, the Board of Trustees of the Wichita Falls Community Mental Health Mental Retardation Center requested the City to appropriate $45, 000 from unappropriated general funds for the purchase of the Fowler Home, at Broad and Sixth Streets, and lease it to the Center for a seven year period with a lease payment of $8 ,300 .00 annually, and to deed the property to the Center at the end of such seven year period; and, WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 1823 , the Board of Aldermen authorized the purchase of such property for $45, 000, and authorized a seven year lease to the Center for a rental of $8 , 300 .00 per year; and, WHEREAS, the City entered into such lease on July 13, 1976, which provided that, at the termination of such lease on August 14 , 1983, the City would convey title to the property and improvements to the Center as of August 15, 1983; the lease provided for rental at the rate of $725 . 00 per month; and, WHEREAS, the Center has made all of the rental payments, and has requested that the City convey the property to them. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS , THAT: The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a special warranty deed to the Wichita Falls Community Mental Health Mental Retardation Center, for the consideration of One Dollar ($1 .00) , conveying the following described property in Wichita Falls, to-wit: BEGINNING at an iron rod set at the intersection of the Northeast boundary of Block 244 , Original Townsite of Wichita Falls with the North boundary of Sixth Street as it now exists, said point being one foot North of a four foot wide sidewalk and 8 .45 feet North 35° West from the East corner of Block 244 ; THENCE with Northeast line of Block 244; North 35° 00 ' West 160 .25 feet to the North corner of Lot J, Francis Subdivision, an iron rod in Southeast line of 20-foot alley; THENCE with Southeast line of 20-foot alley, South 54° 54-1/2 ' West 125 .0 feet to iron rod in Northwest line of Lot H, Francis Subdivision; THENCE parallel to Broad Street, South 35° 00 ' East 132 .1 feet to iron rod in North boundary of Sixth Street as it now exists, said point being one foot North of a four foot wide sidewalk, and 37 .8 feet North 35° West from the Southeast line of Block 244; THENCE Northeasterly parallel with and one foot North of said sidewalk, following a curve to the left with a radius of 1092 feet for a distance of 128 .15 feet to the place of beginning and containing 18 , 439 square feet or 0 . 423 acres of land.
