Res 165-83 9/6/1983RESOLUTION NO. / Lij-I3 RESOLUTION APPROVING NEW WATER RATES AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE FOR THE RATES, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AMENDMENTS TO CONTRACTS FOR WATER SALES WITH EIGHTEEN ENTITIES OUTSIDE THE CITY TO ADJUST THE PRICE OF WATER WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has contracts for the sale of water to a number of entities outside of the city; and, WHEREAS, the cost of service for the operating year ending September 30, 1982, has been analyzed by the firm of Joe M. Nall & Associates, Inc. ; and, WHEREAS, the cost of service study indicates that rates should be adjusted. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: The following water rates for the category and contracting entities indicated are approved and shall become effective for all water delivered to the entities on and after October 1, 1983. Raw Water Only The current rate of 23.95 cents per 1000 gallons is increased to 28.47 cents per 1000 gallons for these contracting entities: Red River Authority of Texas (Arrowhead Properties Inc.) Red River Authority of Texas (Lake Arrowhead System) Bridwell Oil Company City of Electra, Texas North Central Oil Corporation North Central Oil Corporation & Strawn Drilling Company Sanford P. Fagadau Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (Lake Arrowhead State Park) Windthorst Water Supply Corporation Treated Water Only The current rate of 40.68 cents per 100 cubic feet is increased to 49.24 cents per 100 cubic feet for the City of Iowa Park, Texas. Page 3 of 4 Pages Agenda Item No. Transmitted Treated Water The current rate of 46.83 cents per 100 cubic feet is increased to 52.02 cents per 100 cubic feet for these contracting entities: Archer City Municipal Utility District No. 1 City of Burkburnett, Texas Dean Dale Water Supply Corporation Friberg-Cooper Water Supply Corporation City of Lakeside City, Texas Town of Pleasant Valley, Texas City of Scotland, Texas The City Manager is authorized to execute amendments to contracts for water sales to establish the newly adopted rates. The fact that additional revenue is needed in Public Utilities Department during the fiscal year beginning October 1, 1983, in order to meet the cost of providing the service levels to be performed and to meet the debt service obligations creates an emergency; this ordinance is declared an emergency measure and shall be effective upon it passage.
