RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE
FROM THE STATE OF TEXAS OF 50, 000 SQUARE FEET OF
LAND ON SIBLEY STREET, BETTER KNOWN AS THE LONE
STAR GAS PROPERTY.
WHEREAS, that certain 50, 000 square foot tract of land on
Sibley Street, better known as the Lone Star Gas property, described
as follows:
Being the south 125 feet of Lots 15 ,
16 , 17, 18, 19 , 20, 21 and 22 in the
Taylor Subdivision in the City of
Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas,
and being the same property described
in a deed from the City of Wichita
Falls to the State of Texas dated
June 15, 1972 recorded in Volume 1121,
Page 233 , Deed Records of Wichita
County, Texas,
has been found to be surplus by the State of Texas, and has been
appraised by the State at a value of $20, 000, and the State is willing
to sell it to the City for that sum.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The purchase of such tract of land for the sum of $20, 000 from
the State of Texas is hereby approved; the City Manager is authorized
to send to the State a written "offer to purchase" for this amount,
and to pay such amount to the State Department of Highways and Public
Transportation in exchange for the State ' s deed to such tract.
